Lay Horses – IntroductionFINDING A HORSE THAT WILL LOSE – INTRODUCTION

To explain the simplest way I always look for false favorites, or a horse having much bets to win, but I think they will lose. I do this by taking into account many factors that many people do not care to look.

Practically there are hundreds of factors that may affect the race conduct, many people spend hours and hours studying these factors and ultimately not reach a conclusion.

Most punters draws its conclusions based on the horse shape and 80% or 90% of the horse odd is based on form. This is no coincidence, because the bookies know that most punters’ money is based on the horse shape, in one way or another. Still more to help the party, all newspapers, television and tipsters base their choices in the horse shape and this causes the gambler to change its mind regarding its choice.

Well, all this is to say if a horse is going well will be bet massively and have a good value to do your lay (bet against).

Horse shape is simply a file of his recent performances and it sure is an important factor in our choice but is not the only one.

For example a horse that won the last race will always be massive bet on his next race and with this I am not saying that the shape does not count and that we have to lay or bet against all horses who have won their last race.

Another of the reasons for making a false favorite are the stables. This happens a lot in young and inexperienced horse racing. The player simply bet on the horse with the best jockey or better coach.

I nevertheless go deeper and study many other factors that may influence the outcome of the race, and this is the information you’ll go forward.

We have two types of horse racing in the UK: the Flat Racing and National Hunt (Jump) Racing.

Let us first talk of Flat Racing. These races have distances beginning at 5 furlongs (5 / 8 mile or thousand meters) and go up to 20 furlongs (two miles and a half or 4 thousand meters), starting the race when the output of a cage and as the name suggests, there are no obstacles in flat racing. The era of the flat is from mid-March to mid November. Flat horses are prepared to run faster and start with 2 or 3 years.

We have two types of racing at Flat Racing: Stakes and Handicaps.

In all stakes horses take up the same weight. In all handicaps lead weights. The weight that the horse will load is based on its ability, which is evaluated by a core officer (handicapper). The horse with the best rating (evaluation) will surely carry more weight, and of course, that has the lowest rating carries less weight. Theoretically, all horses in handicaps have the same chance of winning.

However, favorites win only 28% of handicap races and this gives us great scope for making our lays and even more impressive are the horses with 2.00 odd or less: according to statistics in past 10 years, if I had a lay in all, had a 20% return on investment, which would make a good value for a lay.

There are also several types of races, depending on the quality of the horses. I usually try to do my lays in the following races:

Maidens - Races for horses that never won.

Conditions Races – When horse won his maiden, he can race here, are for races winners or winners in races up to a certain value.

Listed Races – When the horse won a Conditions race can go here.

Group Races – These are the most prestigious races of the flat, and has groups 1, 2 and 3, with group 1 the most respected and best award.
