Pick: Daniel Koellerer @ 2.50 in WilliamHill / Result: (6-2 6-2 6-1) D Koellerer vs T Gabashvilli – Roland Garros

Game of the first round of Roland Garros between the Austrian Daniel Koellerer currently the 111º in the ATP Ranking and the Russian Teimuraz Gabashvili currently at the 114º place in the ATP Ranking

Gabashvilli, 25 years Russian, player that don’t compete very often in the ATP circuit and that prefers to compete in Hard Court in ATP tournaments. In Challengers, his favourite surface is the clay court. This season in ATP Circuit he has a poor record of 1 victory and 6 losses. The Russian had to play the qualifying where he defeated all his opponents by 2 – 0. First Roko Karanusic, then Thierry Ascione and finally Ryler Deheart.

Koellerer, 26 years old Austrian, player very instable known as “crayzy Dani”. He preferes to play in clay court and in his career his record in ATP circuit is 12 – 17. In Challenger his record in this surface is 146 – 100. His record this season at ATP is 4 – 10. The Austrian doesn’t compete since Zagreb where he was forced to give up in spite of physical problems when he was facing Federico Del Bonis.

h2h: 0 – 0

Conclusion: I just see a reason for this odd is so high, and that reason is the possible bad physical state of the Austrian. If Koellerer is in his best shape he has game to win this game and despite the fact that the russian has played already some games in this tournment, i ser Koellerer with more weapons in this surface than the Russian. Gabashvili plays always in the same way, strong and powerful shots from the baseline, in the other side there is Koellerer that has the skills to change the pace of the game and do drop shots. If Koellerer is going to play that means that he is good physicaly and so I see a lot of value in this bet.

the USTA is currently dedniicg what player will fill Isner’s wild card spot. “Isner has mono and will not be playing. We’re in the process of figuring out what we’re going to do, but there is nothing to repot on our decision as of yet,” McEnroe told the media in a conference call this afternoon. The USTA and the French Tennis Federation have a reciprocal agreement in which wild card entries into the main draw at the 2009 French Open and 2009 US Open are exchanged. Scoville Jenkins, 22, of Atlanta; Evan King, 17, of Chicago; Jesse Levine, 21 of Boca Raton, Fla.; Michael McClune, 19, of Irvine, Calif.; Nathan Pasha, 16, of Atlanta; Rhyne Williams, 18, of Knoxville, Tenn. and Donald Young, 19, of Atlanta all competed in the USTA’s wild card tournament. It is probable one of those seven players could get Isner’s wild card.
