Probability launches first games for iPhone, iPod TouchMOBILE gambling games specialist Probability has launched its first games specifically designed for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

Customers of the company’s LadyLuck’s consumer brand will from today be able to gamble for real money on three games from the Probability portfolio – Roulette, multi-hand Blackjack and Poseidon’s Slots, with a fourth game, Goldrush slots, scheduled for release during the summer.

Distribution is backed by AdMob, although the games, which have been developed as applications which run inside the Apple browsers in a way intended to appears to the customer as a regular ‘app’, can not be downloaded from Apple’s App Store due to the technology business’ ban on gambling games.

The new offering is available to Probability’s white label and regulated business-to-business (B2B) clients as well as its own customers, and will be supplied to B2B clients using their existing integrations to the Probability gaming system.

Chief executive Charles Cohen said: “iPhone has transformed the mobile landscape and made mass-market, consumer mobile gambling games a reality.

“Clearly this also gives us the opportunity to address a whole new audience who have moved on from cameraphones and keypads. We have already established strong relationships with the likes of AdMob and other key players in the race to reach iPhone users. Our B2B clients are also excited by the new games and we’ve been able to use this as a great marketing tool for potential new clients as well.”

According to telecom market analysts IDC, Apple sold three million iPhones in Europe during the first quarter of calendar year 2010, compared with 0.9 million in the first quarter of the previous year. The latest version, iPhone 4, was reported by Apple to have sold 1.7million units worldwide on its first day.

Probability’s iPhone and iPod Touch customers will be able to install the games for free using a WiFi or mobile internet (3G or 2.5G) connections, with players able to deposit funds into their account using a credit and debit card, mobile bill charging or cash vouchers.

Customised iPad versions with enhanced graphics are planned for later this year.
