Lazio vs Milan – Calcio Série A 

Great game we will have in Rome. Lazio is seeking the leadership and Milan is trying to stay close.

Lazio is motivated after the great victory against Fiorentina away from home. They manage to turn a 2-1 score. The team already appears in 4th place and can lead if they beat AC Milan today. I was able to see Lazio recent games and I could see some defensive weaknesses, mainly in the first half of Fiorentina’s game where they manage somehow to save the goal. However after 20 minutes we saw a conscious team in the field with a good ball movement and with many chances to score. For this game, the coach Reja will choose to protect his defense and will use a disguised 4-4-1-1 which should become 4-2-3-1 when the team has the ball. Foggia, Mauri and Hernanes advance to play with Floccari. We will see changes in defense with Cavanda playing instead of Lichsteiner.

The highlight of Lazio is Hernanes which gives the pace to Biancazzuri midfield and put the fans dreaming about higher standards this year.

Milan began swinging this season and is now on the 14th place of Calcio. This year Adriano Galliani decided to give the Rossoneri fans a powerful group of strikers like Robinho and Ibra. The team pretends to form the so called Quartet of Aces with Ronaldinho, Ibra, Robinho and Pato. However the weakness of the team went unnoticed in the list of hires. The defense keeps the same with Flamini, Ambrosini, Gattuso, Pirlo and others. Milan is completely different at the two stages of the game. When they attack we saw an awesome team capable of creating shots for foal at anytime, with dribbles and the magic of Ronaldinho. But when the ball is lost we saw a hole between the midfield and the defense, which any team with minimum quality can be capable of explore and making damage, as Catania did.
In their last game the team could have taken more goals at the first half if the opponent had the calm needed. The players attacking in Milan rarely comeback to defense, so we got the veteran Pirlo and the sloppy defense line to stop the opponents that put 4 or 5 men in the counterattack.

Conclusion

This game AC Milan will face the strongest opponent so far this season and the same goes for Lazio. Milan team likes to have ball possession and knows how to play up front, but when they lose the ball they’re in trouble because there’s too much space to counterattack. Lazio has also showed good ball movement, with Hernanes exploring his talent, and the same problems in defense as Milan. They also have a big space between sectors that Ronaldinho can use to put the ball in the strikers. I predict a game with lots of opportunities to score with both teams having a good attack and a terrible defense.
