Setubal vs Paços Ferreira – Liga Sagres 

Closing match for this round in Portuguese main league, Liga Zon Sagres, and battling on the field will be two teams trying to break their negative records. From Setúbal side the record is a team that has been winless at home since March, from Paços de Ferreira side a team that doesn’t win a game as guest for a year, oddly enough, their last successful outing was with Setúbal, also on 6th round.

Playing at home will be Setúbal which we can say started very well this year, with an opening victory against Marítimo in Barreiros for 1-0. This was the only goal scored by Setubal this season, because from that game on they never won a game again, nor scored any goal. On 2nd rounf they’ve managed to tie against last year’s runner-up Braga and after that lost to Benfica at Estádio da Luz and again tied at home against Beira-Mar. Last round they’ve tied with nil score again in Figueira da Foz against Naval. For this game with Paços, Hugo Leal and central defender Valdomiro have recovered from their injuries, Jailson on the other hand still struggles with his injury and should not play.

On the other side will be Furniture Capital’s, Paços de Ferreira, which comes highly motivated because they haven’t lost a single game, and last round they’ve managed to turn the table coming from behind 2-0 and managing a tie 2-2, playing at home against Braga. The team started the season well with a win at home against Sporting. Nevertheless they’ve never tasted victory again, but never lost either. On 2nd round they got a nil tie at Leiria, then hosted Portimonense with another draw 2-2 and finally visited Maritimo where they got a tie again. For this game, Cássio the goalkeeper is available again, and should get his spot back, just like Pizzi and Rondon. Out are Paulo Sousa, Carlos Renan and Felipe Anunciação. So the team won’t be much different from the one that got the tie against Sporting, except for Cássio that is available again.

Conclusion: I’ll have to take Paços the Ferreira. I liked their game against Braga and has some quality players, for instance, on defense i appreciate Cohene and on the midfield André Leão. Nelson Oliveira can evolve much in this team and is a player to follow also. On the other side something is wrong in the attacking lines because Setúbal has Pitbull and Henrique, quality players in my opinion for what i’ve seen of them in the past. So, i guess it will be a balanced match with few goal chances, and should be decided on details, maybe on a corner kick or foul.
