Japan was able to qualify for the world cup without major problems. The first stages of qualification were overcome without difficulty and the in last qualifying group also didn’t had difficulties in achieving the 2nd place which guaranteed the establishment direct qualification. However in this group stayed behind Australia and was inferior to the Australians.

Algeria vs Slovenia – World Cup 2010

Algeria had a difficult time qualifying and only managed to reach the World Cup finals winning a playoff against Egypt after these two countries tied up in the group phase. In that group, Algeria took advantage of home soil matches, winning all of them, but they also showed some of their fragilities on away matches.

This is the third presence of Algeria in the final stage of a World Cup, returning after 24 years of absence, and never overcoming the group stage. This year their played in CAN and reached the semifinal, which was a good result and confirmed Algeria as one of the best top teams in Africa and showed that the qualification to the World Cup was not fortuitous.

Algeria has a great influence of french football in their national team and that allows their football to have an appreciable tactical culture. This national team doesn’t have great stars but is well organized and very combatable. Still, the creatives Meghni and Ziani as well as the forward Ghezzal are the stars of this team.
