Google is continuing to relax its policies regarding gambling advertising with licensed operators now able to promote their online gaming services via the popular video-sharing website YouTube.com.

UK’s Football League signs Coral as new betting partner

Having recently redeveloped its sports betting website, Gala Coral’s online betting brand Coral.co.uk has signed a three-year deal to become the official betting and gaming partner of the Football League, the national membership organisation for 72 football clubs in the UK.
Under the three-year deal which begins on July 1st 2010, Coral will also become the official online betting and gaming partner of FL Interactive (FLi), the digital arm of the Football League which manages and develops the online and mobile rights for 82 clubs from the Football League and Premier League.

Czech Republic Proposes to Ban Online Gambling Advertising

The Czech Republic is proposing an amendment to it’s gambling laws that if passed will ban foreign online betting companies from advertising their products in the country.
According to the Association of Betting Service Providers Czech tax laws require gambling companies operating in the country to make charitable contributions of up to 20 percent of revenues on top of normal taxes.

Ladbrokes sells loss-making Italian retail business to Cogetech

Ladbrokes has agreed to sell its loss-making chain of Italian betting shops to an affiliate of Italian gaming and betting business Cogetech for €5.25m.
The cash sale price represents an 83% discount on the business’ quoted carrying value of £26.7m (€30.3m), as of 31 December 2009. Cogetech will assume responsibility for approximately €18m of guarantees currently provided by Ladbrokes.
